What the app processes

The app measures noise level with the device microphone and illuminance with the ambient light sensor. Both measurements run entirely on the device.

Microphone

The microphone permission is used solely to measure loudness. Audio is never recorded, never written to a file and never transmitted. Each block of roughly 100 milliseconds of samples is reduced to a single number — the A-weighted sound pressure level in dB — and the audio itself is then discarded from memory. Speech or any other sound cannot be reconstructed from those numbers.

The microphone is active only while a measurement you started manually is running. The app does not measure in the background and stops when you leave it.

Light sensor

Used to measure illuminance in lux. It requires no system permission, and its readings are processed locally in the same way.

Measurement history

When you save a session, it is written to the app’s private storage on your device. A saved session contains only:

• the name you entered;
• the date, start time and duration;
• the minimum, average and maximum values;
• a series of averaged values, one per second;
• the share of time spent in each zone, and the calibration value in effect.

This data is accessible only to the app itself. It is deleted when you delete an individual session, clear the history in Settings, or uninstall the app. History can be switched off entirely in Settings.

Export and sharing

The export feature creates a CSV or JSON file from the selected session and hands it to the system share sheet. Where that file goes is your choice — the app never sends it anywhere itself and has no network access.

What the app does not do

• no internet access and no network requests of any kind;
• no device identifiers, advertising ID or location data;
• no analytics, trackers or ad networks;
• no accounts and no sign-up;
• no sharing with third parties, because nothing is collected.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no personal data from users of any age.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever handles data differently, this page will be updated and the date changed. Material changes will also be announced inside the app.
